K Flay
MONO: Live in Stereo Tour
2024
"From the moment she launched into her set, it was evident that K.Flay was here to deliver a knockout performance."
2Kool Sounds

The Mono Tour is a visually audible journey into K.Flay’s emotional loss of her hearing in one ear. The experience is shared with the audience in three poetic Acts that unfold as a staged reflection of normality (Act 1), Duo (Act 2), and Mono (Act 3).

How we got there
The first act establishes normalcy. A miniature K.Flay in a far off distance strolls towards the audience getting larger and larger with a soft open to “Bar Soap” until she walks off screen into real life. Act 1 centers around the band, bold color-blocked lighting, and floor-to-ceiling projection that grounds the audience in focus.
The second act (Duo), fractures the foundation of reality. To capture the inner disorienting new reality for K.Flay, the set splits apart into two halves, featuring doubled projections warping into optical illusions. As Act Two unfolds, K.Flay tears through a series of rock-and-roll anthems highlighting many of the emotions of her new being. A large floor package strobes with pulses and bright flashes, amplifying her distortion and confusion. During her hard hitting smash “Raw Raw”, we see K.Flay get visually divided into two through layered projection and larger than life shadows. She performs with her Ghostly Phantom on stage as she experiences a division of her current life and parts of her that are no longer around. As Act two progresses, the mood and vibe softens to focus on new inner understanding and peace as we see K.Flay levitate in an empty room of sound and light.
The final act (Mono) gives way to acceptance. Lighting and visuals realigned into symmetry, the doubling dissolved, and the set reassembled piece by piece. A theatrical representation of K.Flay rebuilding her new life into Mono. The journey ends in stark minimalism: lights across the stage flickered out one by one until K.Flay herself was “switched off,” disappearing in a blink before the audience’s eyes.

“The show’s lighting design was phenomenal, using silhouettes and dynamic effects that made every moment visually striking."

“K.Flay turns to the crowd… the 90-minute show delivered hits and jabs from the new album… intermixed with classics including the smash Blood In The Cut and the elevating High Enough.”
