“Muse took to the main stage with the kind of bombastic, maximalist production they’re famous for.”
TNT Magazine

Conceived by longtime creative director, Jesse Lee Stout of Metaform Studios, Muse’s 2025 European festival production design was created as a modular, high-impact visual system tailored for large outdoor stages while retaining the immersive intensity of a full tour production. At its core was a kinetic ceiling of approximately 20 suspended LED and lighting panels positioned above the band, forming a floating architectural grid that could be repositioned throughout the set. These panels functioned as both dynamic video surfaces and integrated lighting structures, allowing content, lighting, and movement to operate as a unified visual canvas. The design emphasized flexibility and scalability, enabling the production to adapt efficiently to varying festival stage dimensions across Europe. Pyrotechnics and large-scale effects were layered in at key musical peaks, enhancing the performance. Overall, the aesthetic leaned into bold, high-contrast visuals and synchronized motion, creating a powerful three-dimensional environment that amplified the band’s blend of rock, electronic, and progressive elements while maintaining the logistical efficiency required for a festival run.

How we got there
Jesse Lee Stout proposed the creative for the European Festival tour in the early months of 2025. With limited rehearsal time, it was important to establish a solid base show file in multiple weeks of pre viz. The entire team, including automation gathered at Clear All Visuals Studio in Nashville to work the rig through its paces.
There were multiple set lists proposed creating a complex set of directives that lead the team to have multiple versions of the same song in the show files. Under Stout's guidance, the team remained organized and structured, easily programming the multitude of songs with various automation presets.
As the pods moved throughout Z space above the stage, a new set of lights were revealed on the back wall. The design of automated video pods and a massive wall of upstage lighting allowed the stage to transform completely throughout the night.
